Assam: Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh Offers Prayers At Maa Kamakhya Temple

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh visited the Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati on Monday, offering prayers for the progress and prosperity of the Northeastern states. During his visit, Singh reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the region’s development, announcing plans to hold a conference of Northeast ministers to discuss further advancements.

Singh emphasized that the Northeastern states hold a crucial place in the nation’s growth. “The Prime Minister is dedicated to ensuring the region’s development. I offered prayers at Maa Kamakhya Devi Temple for this very purpose,” he said.

Reflecting on the strides made since 2014, Singh noted improvements in various sectors, including a 4% increase in fisheries production under his department’s initiatives. He stated that the upcoming ministerial conference would focus on boosting productivity in the region.

Singh also criticized RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav for his casual approach to politics and national issues, calling him an “animal” and accusing him of causing harm to Bihar. He referred to Nitish Kumar’s earlier remarks about regretting their political alliance.

On the subject of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, Singh reaffirmed the BJP’s support for the NDA and accused Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of corruption. “The people of Delhi have made up their minds that the BJP will win,” he added, ahead of the elections expected to take place in February 2025.
