
Guwahati, Jan 24: The Assam government has announced plans to revamp the infrastructure of 252 government schools, with an investment of over Rs 1,800 crore. The initiative aims to enhance educational facilities in rural areas by constructing new buildings and upgrading existing infrastructure.
Mamata Hojai, Director of Secondary Education, stated that the schools were selected from each of the 126 assembly constituencies, with input from local Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The project will be funded through the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), as part of the budget provisions made last year.
