Agartala, February 07, 2025: In a well-coordinated operation, Assam Rifles and the Customs Department successfully seized a consignment of illicit drugs in Dholai village, Narsingpur tehsil of Cachar district, Assam on Friday. The operation, based on specific intelligence, dealt a major blow to narcotics trafficking in the region.

According to official sources, the joint team apprehended an individual and recovered nine soap boxes containing 123 grams of brown sugar. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth ₹86.10 lakh in the illegal market.

“The swift action by Assam Rifles and Customs prevented the distribution of these narcotics, curbing the spread of drug-related activities in the area,” an official stated. The arrested individual and the confiscated drugs have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
