
Kokrajhar, Feb 18: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya engaged with farmers, weavers, artisans, and entrepreneurs during his visit to the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) in Kokrajhar. He praised their vital contributions to agriculture, weaving, and entrepreneurship, acknowledging their role in the economic growth of Assam and the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
During the event, Acharya emphasized the importance of these sectors in achieving self-reliance for Assam and BTR. He encouraged the participants to serve as role models for the younger generation and contribute to strengthening the state’s entrepreneurial landscape.
The Governor also highlighted the continuous support from the Central Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the State and Council Governments, through various welfare schemes for farmers. He urged the people to take advantage of these initiatives to establish themselves as successful entrepreneurs.
Acharya further focused on sustainable agriculture, encouraging farmers to adopt organic and systematic farming methods to create job opportunities. He also urged the attendees to listen to Prime Minister Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat,” describing it as a source of inspiration for improving their quality of life.
As part of the visit, the Governor ceremoniously handed over essential goods to the Kokrajhar District Commissioner under the Governor Assam Amrit Sarovar Sadbhavna Sangat Protsahan Yojana.
