Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, in Delhi on February 3 to discuss initiatives related to the state’s digital infrastructure. The discussion focused on the upcoming session, ‘I-Ways in Viksit Assam,’ which will be chaired by Scindia during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit.
The session will gather industry leaders and experts to formulate a strategy for strengthening Assam’s digital infrastructure by building robust Information Highways, with an emphasis on driving inclusive development and boosting the state’s technological progress.
In preparation for the summit, the Assam government has been actively encouraging investment in the state, particularly in sectors like infrastructure, green energy, and manufacturing. An investors’ roadshow was recently held in Kolkata as part of the lead-up to the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0: Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025.’
