Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed a gathering of South Korean CEOs and business leaders at the Advantage Assam roadshow in Seoul on Monday, urging them to invest in the state.
Sarma highlighted Assam’s strategic location and the supportive policies under the Government of India’s Act East Policy, which aims to accelerate industrial growth in the northeastern region. He reassured investors that both the Assam and Indian governments are committed to facilitating business opportunities. “The government will be proactive in promoting industrialization in Assam, and we encourage you to explore the potential here,” he said.
The Chief Minister also extended an invitation to the business leaders to attend the Advantage Assam summit on February 25th and 26th, where numerous investment opportunities in the state will be showcased. The roadshow in Seoul is part of Assam’s ongoing efforts to attract global investment, following similar events in London and Dubai. Assam recorded a notable 19.5% growth in its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in 2023, reflecting its growing economic potential.
