Guwahati, Jan 14: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday expressed confidence in the vast potential of the state’s youth, stating that they are poised to shape Assam’s future. Addressing a gathering after felicitating 1,517 meritorious students from his Jalukabari constituency, Sarma emphasized that the government is committed to empowering youth by providing them with the skills needed to excel in emerging fields like AI, robotics, 3D printing, augmented reality, and quantum physics.
Sarma highlighted that staying abreast of technological advancements is crucial for the youth to remain relevant in a rapidly changing job market. He also discussed the upcoming semiconductor project in Jagiroad, with an investment of Rs 27,000 crore, which is expected to create significant employment opportunities for the youth of Assam. Currently, around 500 students from the state are being trained in the semiconductor sector in Bengaluru.
The Chief Minister further noted the state’s progress in infrastructure, education, and investment, which are helping to prepare youth for future challenges. He encouraged the students to dream big, work hard, and use their knowledge to bring about positive change in society.
Sarma also extended his greetings for the festival of Uruka and Bhogali Bihu, hoping it would bring happiness and prosperity to the people of Assam. He reiterated his long-standing commitment to recognizing academic excellence and guiding students as they prepare for the demands of the 21st century.
