Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly has come out in support of Imlie actress Sumbul Touqeer, who recently responded to body-shaming trolls criticizing her weight gain. In a bold Instagram post, Sumbul addressed the negativity head on. She shared that she was tired of the constant judgement from trolls, and reminded people that she knows what she is doing with her life. She also explained that the reason behind her weight gain was the medications which didn’t suit her. Rupali has now applauded Sumbul for her strong stance against the negativity.
Rupali Ganguly took to her Instagram story to share a screenshot of Sumbul’s note in which she slammed the trolls. The Anupamaa actress publicly praised her for standing up against body-shaming. “So proud of u my sumbulia,” she wrote, showing her admiration for Sumbul’s courage and the way she handled the negativity. Sumbul Touqeer’s Message To Body-Shaming Trolls
On Monday, Sumbul Touqeer took to her Instagram story and wrote, “I’ve been reading many comments and tweets from a few Victoria’s Secret models about my weight and appearance, and I can say that I’ve never been more mad in my life. I am very politely asking you to stop and let me live my life in peace. If you think I’m ruining my life, let me. I know what I’m doing, and I’m tired now.”
“P.S. The reason for my sudden weight gain was medication prescribed by a neurologist and a psychiatrist, which did not suit me. SHUT UP NOWWWWW!!!!” she further added.
Sumbul Touqeer was last seen in ‘Kavya – Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon’, which premiered on September 25, 2023. She played the role of an IAS officer who fought against societal norms while trying to balance her work and personal life. The show had a strong run for nearly a year before going off-air. She is set to appear in Jaadu Teri Nazar, produced by Gul Khan, in which she has a special cameo.
Meanwhile, Rupali is currently seen playing the titular role in the popular television show ‘Anupamaa’. The show, which premiered in 2020, has been consistently topping TRP charts.
