
Vizianagaram district administration has given top priority to the completion of road repair works in several routes including Ramabhadrapuram-Bobbili, Vizianagaram-Cheepurupalli, Vizianagaram-Jami and other routes which were in bad shape for the last few years.
Accidents have been taking place in those routes and traffic is also moving at a Snail’s space. Drivers have a tough time in those routes owing to breakdown of vehicles frequently. Against this background, Collector B.R. Ambedkar directed officials of Roads and Buildings Department and other departments concerned to complete all pending works by April, 2025.
He has been holding meetings with officials and contractors to monitor the progress on day-to-day basis as the government sought the progress of the road repair works in respective districts. According to him, as many as 76 works were taken up with ₹10.5 crore in the first phase and second phase works would be completed with in a couple of months.
“Around 81% works were completed and remaining 19 works would be done very soon as there is no paucity of funds,” said Mr. Ambedkar. He has also suggested the officials of National Highway Authority of India to complete ROB at Manapuram as traffic jam at Manapuram railway gate was causing inconvenience to people of all areas.
