Akshay Kumar Reveals Why Sky Force Is Special To Him: ‘I’ve Been Part Of 150 Films But…’

Akshay Kumar also shared a new picture in his character from Sky Force along with a heartfelt note.

Akshay Kumar and newcomer Veer Pahariya’s upcoming film Sky Force is off to a great start with strong advance box office openings. The film is all set to release on January 24. It will see Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya play the role of Indian Air Force pilots and is based on the true story of Squadron Leader Devayya and other members of the Indian Air Force who fought during the 1965 Indo-Pak war. Now, Akshay has taken to his Instagram account to share a new picture of himself in his character from the film.

Along with it, the Bollywood superstar wrote, “I’ve been a part of over 150 films, but there’s something uniquely powerful about the words “based on a true story.” And to top it off, stepping into the uniform of an Air Force officer has been nothing short of incredible. Sky Force is an untold story of honor , courage and patriotism that deserves to be shared.

Recently, Akshay Kumar and the team of Sky Force had hosted a special screening of the film for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi. The Minister shared pictures from the screening on X (formerly known as Twitter) and praised the team. He extended his best wishes and wrote, “Joined CDS and three service chiefs at the special screening of ‘Sky Force’. The film narrates the story of the Indian Air Force’s bravery, courage and sacrifice during the 1965 War. I laud the makers of the film for their efforts.”

Akshay, who was overwhelmed by the beautiful words, replied to the politician’s post on X and wrote, “Thank you, Sir. An absolute honour for me and the team of Skyforce that you, the CDS and the three service chiefs took out time to watch and bless our film. We’ve made it with a lot of gratitude and pride for the courage of our armed forces.”

Sky Force is Veer’s Bollywood debut. The film also sees Sara Ali Khan playing the role of the late soldier’s wife in the film. It is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films.
