Adrien Brody reflected on his career during a recent interaction about his time in the industry. The actor recalled the early days of his career, reflecting on the phase when he spent time with an unlikely friend, co-actor and rapper Tupac Shakur. Taking a trip down memory lane, he also referred to his role in the 1996 film Bullet as his breakout role. Bullet starred Mickey Rourke and Tupac in lead roles.

Speaking with Variety, the French Dispatch actor recalled, “Working with ’Pac was amazing. He was incredibly focused. We hung out a lot when we did the movie.” Continuing, he added that Brody remarked that they ended up hanging out a lot while filming the venture. The actor went on, “We spent a lot of time together, and he became quite close with Mickey. And Mickey really took me under his wing at that time.”

Recalling nights out with each other, Adrien Brody noted that the rapper was doing well in his career but had not achieved the mega-stardom peak at that time. “He had a big rap career, but he was not ‘Tupac’ yet. He didn’t even have ‘Thug Life’ tattooed on his chest yet,” Brody noted. He further recalled writing graffiti with one another and later, the rapper wrote, ‘Thug Life’ which Brody shared that he was not aware of what Tupac was referring to.

Adrien Brody’s professional front includes his work in the film The Brutalist. Based on the life of an architect, the film chronicles his journey as he leaves his old life behind in Europe and shifts to America to build his life again including his career and marriage. The plot takes an interesting turn when he catches the attention of the rich industrialist after he settles in Pennsylvania. Apart from Brody, the movie stars Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Felicity Jones, Emma Laird, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Alessandro Nivola and Natalie Shinnick among others in pivotal roles.

As for Tupac Shakur, he is known for his roles in Juice, Above the Rim, Gang Related and Poetic Justice. The rap legend was murdered in a drive-by shooting in 1996 when he was 25 years old. His murder, since, has remained unsolved.
