Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, is all set for his first theatrical release, Loveyapa, alongside Khushi Kapoor. However, unlike many young actors, Junaid has chosen to stay off social media.

Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, discusses his privilege in Bollywood, admitting that producers cast him even without a social media presence.

Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, is gearing up for his first theatrical release, Loveyapa, co-starring Khushi Kapoor, but unlike many young actors in the industry, he maintains a complete distance from social media. In a recent interview, Junaid candidly acknowledged that his family’s legacy plays a major role in getting him projects, even without a strong digital presence.

Having worked as an assistant on some of his father’s productions, Junaid made his acting debut in 2024 with YRF’s Maharaj. Speaking with Radio Nasha, he openly admitted that being Aamir Khan’s son comes with “all the advantages” and that he is aware of the privilege that enables him to choose not to engage with social media. He shared, “Nobody has said anything negative to me, actually. I’m not on social media, so I have no idea.”

Junaid further elaborated that unlike most actors, he doesn’t need social media visibility to land roles. He acknowledged, “That is also a privilege. Producers will cast me even without seeing any public presence. Not many actors have that. It’s purely because of the family I come from.”

With social media becoming an unspoken prerequisite for actors, where casting decisions are often influenced by one’s digital reach, Junaid’s remarks highlight the stark contrast between industry expectations and the privilege of a film lineage. Many actors, including some of Bollywood’s biggest stars, are expected to be active online to engage with fans and promote films.

His co-star Khushi Kapoor echoed similar sentiments, admitting that she is also in a privileged position and has no complaints about it. She remarked, “We have a lot to be thankful for, so I don’t really want to be in a position to complain about anything. I am happy where I am.”

Set to release theatrically on February 7, Loveyapa, directed by Advait Chandan, is a remake of the 2022 Tamil hit Love Today. The film’s trailer teases a romantic yet comedic premise, following Gaurav (Junaid Khan) and Baani (Khushi Kapoor), whose love is put to the test when Baani’s father (Ashutosh Rana) forces them to swap phones. What starts as a trust exercise soon unravels shocking secrets, turning their relationship upside down.

Produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment, with Zee Studios handling global distribution, Loveyapa boasts a stellar cast, including Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvika Parlikar, Kiku Sharda, and Kunj Anand.

Before this rom-com, Junaid Khan was last seen in Maharaj alongside Shalini Pandey, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sharvari. Reflecting on the difference between his two projects, he shared, “They are worlds apart. Even the way the films were made. In fact, I found shooting Loveyapa much more intense.”
