The Statue of Unity, standing at an impressive height of 182 meters (597 feet), is located near Kevadia in Gujarat. It depicts Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a key figure in India’s independence movement and the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. Known for his pivotal role in the political integration of India, Patel’s statue faces the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada River, approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Vadodara.
Announced by Narendra Modi in 2010 during his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, the construction of the statue began in October 2013, led by Indian company Larsen & Toubro. Designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar, the project cost ₹27 billion (US$422 million) and was inaugurated on October 31, 2018, marking the 143rd anniversary of Sardar Patel’s birth.
On the professional front, Aamir Khan is gearing up for an eventful 2025 with a diverse lineup of projects both as an actor and producer. His upcoming slate includes films like Lahore: 1947, Sitaare Zameen Par, Ek Din, and Pritam Pyaare.
