Aamir Khan discussed his dream project, Mahabharata, wondering whether he’ll have a role in the film.

Aamir Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chadha.

Aamir Khan has often spoken about Mahabharata, his long-standing dream project. Every now and then, rumours about the film emerges, only to die down. The superstar recently spoke about the film adaption of the epic. He said that he will now think about his “dream”.

At ABP Network’s Ideas of India 2025, Aamir Khan spoke about producing the film version of Mahabharata. “It is my dream to make ‘Mahabharat’, so maybe now I’ll be able to think of that dream. Let’s see if I’ll have a role in it to play,” he said, further adding, “What excites me is children’s content, I believe in India we make lesser children-related content, usually we import that from abroad, dub it here and release it. I want to make stories about children.”

The Ghajini actor also added that while he wants to act in one film every year, he wishes to bankroll as many projects as possible. “As an actor, I do one film at a time and I’m happy with it. I’m trying to do more films as a producer. Next month I’ll turn 60, and for the next 10 to 15 years I want to do more work and give opportunities to newer talent,” Aamir explained.

He then went on to cite the example of Kiran Rao-directed Laapataa Ladies, which was India’s official entry to the Oscars. The film featured Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta and Sparsh Shrivastava, who made their debuts with the film.

“I want to produce new kinds of stories and give a platform to talent across the country. I want to make my production house vibrant,” Aamir shared.

On the work front, Aamir Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chadha (2022), which tanked at the box office. Next, he will be seen Sitaare Zameen Par, a thematic sequel to his 2007 blockbuster, Taare Zameen Par.
