Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Delhi Chief Minister on Thursday (February 20, 2025).
Mr. Naidu will leave for Delhi on Wednesday (February 19, 2025) evening. The swearing in ceremony is likely to be held at Ram Leela maidan at New Delhi. The BJP came to power in Delhi after 27 years after it won 48 seats of the 70 in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections. AAP led by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal secured only 22 seats.
Mr. Naidu attended the swearing-in ceremonies of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Sarita Gangadharrao Fadnavis held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on December 5 last year. He also attended swearing-in ceremony of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Mr. Naidu, a key BJP ally, campaigned against Aam Admi Party and its head Arvind Kejriwal on the last day of campaigning for the Delhi election, saying there was no difference between drainage water and drinking water under AAP’s rule in the national capital. He also called the AAP dispensation a “half-engine” government.” Delhi is a failed model.
Interestingly, Mr. Kejriwal campaigned for Mr. Naidu and his party Telugu Desam Party in 2019 elections. Mr. Arvind Kejriwal requested the people of Andhra Pradesh to vote in favour of TDP and campaigned in favour of his Andhra Pradesh counterpart in 2019.
