Kanye West is all set to release his highly anticipated studio album Bully this year, coinciding with his daughter North West‘s birthday. While plans for Bully were initially revealed in September 2024 during a listening event for Vultures 2, it was at the 67th Grammy Awards that the rapper revealed the album will be launched on June 15, marking his daughter’s 12th birthday.

While fans have been eagerly waiting for West’s Bully, the rapper has recently revealed the inspiration that made him create the album. Speaking on the Tuesday episode of The Download, Kanye West recalled how his son bullied a weaker kid at one point which inspired him to create the album. “My son was playing with some kid. I asked my son, I said, ‘Why did you do that?’ And Saint responded with a simple, ‘Cause he’s weak.’ And I was like, ‘This man is really a bully right here’,” West recalled, further adding that his son has been always kicking around everybody and pushing them over.

It is worth mentioning that the album marks Kayne West’s first release in over three years. Elsewhere in the podcast, the rapper once again confirmed his album’s release date and said, “My oldest said to bring it out in June. Yeah, so we’re gonna do it on her birthday. That’s when we’re gonna bring Bully out ’cause that’s her favorite album.”
