Guwahati, Mar 26: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Minister for Jal Shakti, CR Paatil, in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the rejuvenation of Silsako Beel, a vital wetland in Assam, as well as various initiatives under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the state.
The 30-minute meeting focused on strategies for restoring the wetland and enhancing water management systems under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to improve access to clean and safe drinking water across Assam.
After the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma shared his satisfaction on social media, stating, “Today in New Delhi, I had a very good meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @CRPaatil Ji. We spoke at length about our plans to rejuvenate Silsako Beel and other important issues related to the Jal Jeevan Mission in Assam.”
