When it comes to cricket, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is known for being highly superstitious. Despite his immense love and passion for the sport, the actor strongly believes that India will lose a match if he watches it live. Though defying the risk and his fears, Big B eventually decided to watch the India vs Australia semi-final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. However, a lot of “permutations and connotations” invaded his mind. Taking to his blog, Amitabh Bachchan in a late-night post shared his thoughts, beginning from the dilemma as he took the decision to watch the match and concluding with a satisfactory win for the Indian team.

“Should I see the game… at times when the game is seen we lose… but defied that today… so… where to sit, how to sit… one leg upon the other… which leg, which upon… bending or stretched straight… shoes on or off… change the leg curl or not… oh dear, a wicket just fell… no no no… get back to the first leg-over-leg position,” the actor shared, giving insights into his never-ending dilemma.

The confusion just didn’t end here as Big B further wondered if he should go for a walk during the ads or stay put till the end. “The victory was made in great style… restrained, controlled, no fear, no anxiety… just the confidence of the team to WIN… to hold on till the last few balls and have the will and skill that the ball shall fly over the barrier and announce the WIN,” he continued while celebrating India’s victory over Australia.

Lastly, the Brahmastra actor concluded by reflecting on how the human mind works in different situations and wrote, “Even the greatest thinkers and philosophers profess ignorance on how the mind matters for results, but never have been too strict on the final outcome. Homo sapiens we are, and we are different; we have the largest brains and have the ability to absorb intelligence all around us and about.”

This comes as one of Big B’s many other superstitions when watching India’s cricket match. Earlier on Sunday, March 2, the actor found himself in yet another moment of despair during the India vs New Zealand match. Believing that the Men in Blue would lose, he switched off his TV, only to find the team clinching victory. Following the game, he took to X and wrote, “I thought we would lose the match, so I turned off the TV. But we have won. What a match India!!! Congratulations.”

On the work front, the 82-year-old was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD and Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. He will be next seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming Ramayana, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
