Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of India’s longest-running sitcoms. While the star cast has seen many changes over the years, Munmun Dutta has been a constant. Recently, the actor spoke about how she landed a role in the TV show. She told Farah Khan, “I got Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah through auditions.”
“I had done a show when I was in college, I was 17 years old. I had done the show Hum Sab Baraati at that time, and that was my first ever acting experience. I didn’t even know how to do it,” she added.
Munmun also mentioned that she came to Pune from Kolkata for her studies and would often visit Mumbai. She recalled participating in Gladrags, and said, “I started to come to Mumbai for work. I had participated in Gladrags, and I remember I didn’t have money and how much of a struggle I went through. So when I look back I feel I am blessed and happy wherever I reached.”
Besides her work on TMKOC, Munmun emdorses numerous brands and has appeared in multiple advertisements, making her one of the most-known faces in the world of television.
