Urvashi Rautela has been in the spotlight ever since Daaku Maharaaj’s release. From her viral comment about the film crossing Rs 100 crore to reports claiming her scenes were cut from the film’s OTT version, Urvashi never really sways from the spotlight. And now, an old video from the film’s pre-event has emerged. It has the Daaku Maharaaj team royally ignoring Urvashi on the stage.
Urvashi, in the clip, is seen notably sidelined by the film’s actors, including Nandamuri Balakrishna. She quietly stands on one side as Balayya hypes the other female stars of the film. In the later part of the video, Urvashi gently offers a tissue box to Balakrishna, who was addressing the audience. He looks at her, turns his face towards the audience and continues speaking. Fans stood in support of Urvashi and criticised the film’s team for ignoring her despite her contribution to the project. First, watch the video here:
While Reddit users mostly remained divided, a majority of them stood in support for Urvashi and slammed the Daaku Maharaaj team for the partial treatment. “This is legit disrespectful. Whether you like her or not, she is your costar and deserves recognition and respect. Ye kya tareeka hai? Kis high horse per hai Daaku Maharaj ki cast?”, wrote a social media user. Another wrote in response, “Right. I feel bad for her. Telugu folks when in a group do such things. They would talk among themselves in their language. I have had first hand experience like her.” Yet another user commented, “What is wrong with them have some decency and decorum to respect your colleague. I guess half of the fame this sh**ty movie got was from her shenanigans. On the other hand idk if it’s a stunt or something duvidhaaa!”
Urvashi Rautela reportedly charged a whopping sum of Rs 9.2 crore for Daaku Maharaaj, surpassing Alia Bhatt’s RRR fee. The film released on the Sankranti window and earned around Rs 104 crore at the Indian box office. It is currently streaming on Netflix.
