Hollywood icon Harrison Ford will not be a part of Oscars 2025. The actor, who was a presenter at the Academy Awards, had to withdraw after being diagnosed with shingles. His spokesperson has confirmed the development.

Harrison Ford‘s exit from the Oscars was confirmed by Variety. The Indiana Jones actor fell ill on February 28 and officially bowed out of the show on Saturday, March 1, as per an Entertainment Weekly report. He was last seen at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards last weekend, where he opened the show with a skit with Jessica Williams.

Meanwhile, Mayo Clinic described the shingles disease: “Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash. Shingles can occur anywhere on your body. It typically looks like a single stripe of blisters. Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus—the same virus that causes chickenpox.”

This year, the Oscars presenters include Dave Bautista, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson, Margaret Qualley, Alba Rohrwacher, Zoe Saldaña, and Rachel Zegler. The actors will join the previously announced list of presenters including Selena Gomez, Oprah Winfrey, Joe Alwyn, Ana de Armas, Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Bowen Yang, Lily-Rose Depp, and Sterling K Brown.

The 97th Academy Awards will take place on March 3 at 5.30 am (IST). Indian viewers can watch the ceremony live on JioHotstar and Star Movies. The red-carpet event is scheduled to start at 5 am (IST).

The Academy Awards will be hosted by Emmy-winning host Conan O’Brien for the first time, known for his epic comic timing. American singer-rapper Queen Latifa will pay tribute to legendary musician and winner of 28 Grammys, Quincy Jones through a musical performance. Apart from this, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will present a medley of their Oscar nominated film, Wicked. The audience can also expect performances by Blackpink’s Lisa, Raye and Doja Cat.

Executive producers Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan and Rob Pain are the showrunners of The Academy Awards. It’s produced by Sarah Levine Hall, Taryn Hurd, Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney with Hamish Hamilton at the helm.
