Mika Singh recently opened up about his regrettable experience working with Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover on the web series Dangerous.

Mika Singh reveals why he regrets working with Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover on Dangerous, accusing them of unprofessional behavior and cost overruns.

The entertainment industry is no stranger to behind-the-scenes drama, and singer Mika Singh recently shared a rather bitter experience from his time as a producer. His web series Dangerous, which starred Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover, was meant to be a straightforward project. However, according to Mika, it turned into a costly and frustrating ordeal—one he now deeply regrets.

“Why do you think they’re out of work now? God is watching everything,” Mika stated in a candid interview with Pinkvilla, hinting at the challenges he faced while working with the couple.

Initially, Mika had envisioned a small-scale film, primarily as a platform to showcase his music. “I liked Karan a lot and wanted to produce a low-budget film—around ₹4 crore,” he explained. Unable to afford Vikram Bhatt as a director, he settled for having him write the story and brought in Bhushan Patel, known for directing Alone, a film that had previously starred Bipasha in a double role. However, things took a turn when Bipasha insisted on joining the project. “I was considering another actress, but she wanted to be a part of it,” Mika revealed. With the shoot set in London, the budget spiraled from ₹4 crore to ₹14 crore. But financial concerns were just the beginning—the real issues unfolded on set.

According to Mika, Bipasha’s involvement led to unexpected complications. “The drama she created made me regret stepping into production,” he admitted. Despite working with a familiar team and playing an on-screen couple, Bipasha allegedly started making demands and refusing to do certain scenes. “There were romantic scenes in the script, including kissing sequences, which were always part of the plan. But suddenly, she started throwing tantrums, saying she wouldn’t do this or that,” Mika recalled.

Beyond on-set troubles, completing the post-production process became another hurdle. Mika claimed he never defaulted on payments, yet the dubbing process dragged on unnecessarily. “One day, Bipasha had a sore throat. The next, Karan was unwell. There was always some excuse,” he said.

Mika didn’t hold back in calling out what he sees as the hypocrisy in the industry. According to him, actors often fail to respect independent producers while bending over backward for big production houses. “These out-of-work actresses complain about bad luck, but they should learn to respect producers who bring them opportunities. They are your god. They’d rather take minuscule roles in a Dharma film but won’t show the same respect to independent producers, despite getting paid just as much,” he asserted.

Reflecting on his own career, Mika stressed the importance of professionalism and humility. He credited his longevity in the industry to his strong work ethic. “I have zero attitude. Recently, I flew to Bengaluru to sing for Devi Sri Prasad in Pushpa. If Pritam calls me at 6 AM to record a song, I’ll do it. That’s why I’m where I am. Success doesn’t come overnight—you have to love your work,” he concluded.
