A retired physical education trainer has been taken into police custody as part of the continuing investigation into a complaint that he allegedly threatened to circulate the naked image of a minor girl who refused to join as trainee in his newly opened sports academy at Pulloorampara in Kozhikode district of Kerala.
Tomy Cheriyan, the accused, was earlier booked by the Thiruvambady police in connection with the incident on the basis of a complaint from the girl’s parents.
According to police sources, he has been accused of making frequent telephone calls with threats against the minor girl. Her mother also came up with complaints against the instructor for making threat calls.
Police sources said he was suspected of approaching the girl with a claim that he had secured her nude photo. He allegedly threatened to circulate the photo when the girl refused to join his sports academy for training, they said.
