Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Sam Asghari, shared his perspective when asked whether the public should be worried about the singer given some of her more concerning social media posts.

Britney Spears has recently faced scrutiny over her social media activity with fans and critics expressing concern over her videos including the one where she was seen dancing with knives. Now, her ex-husband, Sam Asghari, has reacted to the situation. While appearing on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off The Vine podcast, The Traitors alum shared his perspective when asked whether the public should be worried about Spears given some of her more concerning social media posts.
“That’s something that you have to surround yourself with great people around you. That’s what I tried to do when I was there. I was trying to be protective, and knowing the fact that there were so many people that took advantage of this girl… Not only was I not going to take advantage of it, I wasn’t going to allow anybody to do [so],” he said.
Despite the ongoing discussions about Spears’ well-being, Asghari assured Spears is doing fine. “She’s doing great. I hope everything goes well with her,” he said.
When he was asked about their time together, Asghari revealed that he had signed an (non-disclosure agreement) NDA during his marriage to the singer. However, he made it clear that, regardless of any legal agreement, he would never speak badly about Spears.
“Even if you don’t have it, my morals, my family, everything that I stand for doesn’t allow me to talk to [the] public about things that are supposed to be private,” Asghari said.
Asghari also spoke about their breakup, calling their relationship a “blessing.” “Breakups suck. Those things suck. No one wants that. But instead of sitting there and thinking about why it ended or how it ended or whatever the case was, I always look back at it as it was a blessing,” Asghari said.
The Hacks actor credited Spears for teaching him important life lessons. “She taught me how to be a hard worker. She taught me that Hollywood is no bulls–t. You have to be a genius. You have to be hardworking. You have to be addicted to your work and just everything,” he added.
During the podcast, Asghari revealed that he was there while Spears worked on her memoir, The Woman in Me. Calling the book “phenomenal,” he said, “I was there when she was writing it, and I was there [to see] how expressive she was. I just hope for the best for her.”
The former couple first met in 2016 on the set of Spears’ music video Slumber Party. They got married in 2022 but separated in 2023. Their divorce was finalised in December 2024.
