BJP State vice-president S. Vishnuvardhan Reddy has found fault with the remarks of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy that Andhra Pradesh is “looting the State’s share of water from the Krishna.”
“It is unfortunate that Mr. Revanth Reddy is portraying the people and farmers of Andhra Pradesh as thieves,” Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said while addressing the media, along with Adoni MLA P.V. Paradhasaradhi, in Kurnool on Saturday (February 22, 2025).
Observing that it was not correct for a Chief Minister to make such remarks, the BJP leader said Mr. Revanth Reddy should apologise to the people of Andhra Pradesh for his remarks.
The people of Rayalaseema, who had sacrificed their lands for the Srisailam project, were not in a position to utilise the waters from it, the BJP leader said.
He alleged that Mr. Revanth Reddy had come to power by deceiving people and was not in a position to implement a single scheme he promised before the elections.
“To hide his failures and hoodwink the people, Mr. Revanth Reddy is making such remarks,” Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy alleged.
He also lashed out at the YSRCP for targeting the Cabinet Ministers through the social media platforms.
Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy further said that YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was not playing the role of a constructive and responsible leader.
“Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had embarked on a padayatra without attending the Legislative Assembly for two years when he had 67 MLAs. He is doing the same now. The BJP attended Parliament when it had two MPs. It also participated in the State Assembly when it had two members,” he said.
