Well, this isn’t the kind of attention Zach Bryan fans were hoping to see. The country music star is surrounded by controversy after a heated exchange at a New York City bar, where he was reportedly caught on camera using a homophobic slur. The incident took place at a West Village bar on Monday and has since made waves online. According to reports, the night started on a friendly note when Bryan and his group were invited to join a pool game just around midnight. However, after losing three consecutive rounds, things took a turn.

Witnesses claim Bryan’s mood “changed on the drop of a dime,” leading to an escalating confrontation with fellow patrons. According to Daily Mail, footage recorded by a customer wearing Ray-Ban Meta glasses captures the moment tension boiled over. One of the bar-goers can be heard addressing Bryan, saying, “I’m not trying to record your a*. I’m trying to record my st with my friends, for memories that I want to have, to have fun and you’re just being a d***e.”

Another added, “Like you’re seriously just being a d***,” prompting Bryan to respond, “That’s the gayest thing I’ve ever heard,” as reported by MailOnline. The video then shows the 28-year-old walking away as the group reacts to his comment.

At the beginning of the clip, Bryan seemed particularly fixated on the customer’s high-tech glasses. When the patron explained they belonged to a friend, the singer said, “I wanna rip them off your face so bad, ‘cause we’re at a bar,” raising his fist in the air in what appeared to be a playful but tense gesture. The video then switches to Bryan’s point of view as he tries on the glasses himself, joking, “You’re gonna see some terrible things tonight.”

As the argument escalated, Bryan’s friends ultimately settled the bill and left him behind. Witnesses claim Bryan and his group repeatedly asked the other patrons to stop recording, but their requests were ignored.

This latest incident adds to a string of public confrontations for Bryan. Just four months ago, he had a heated moment during a concert in Portland when a fan threw a can at him on stage. The singer halted the show to call out the behaviour before tossing the can back into the crowd, an incident that followed yet another object-throwing moment at a previous performance.
