Ben Affleck isn’t wasting any time embracing his new chapter. Following the finalisation of his divorce from Jennifer Lopez on January 6, the actor is easing back into the dating world, though it’s hardly his top priority. “Ben’s casually dating,” a source said. However, the insider was quick to note, “This doesn’t seem to be a focus though.” At 52, Affleck seems more immersed in his career than in romance. “He’s very focused on work. If he’s not filming, he spends long days at his office,” the source added.
Affleck is also a dedicated father. He shares three children – Violet Anne, 19, Seraphina Rose, 16 and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The source told People about his particularly strong bond with his youngest, saying, “They are very close.”

Nearly two decades later, they rekindled their romance in 2021, getting married in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a grander celebration in Georgia the next month.
Fast-forward two years and Lopez, 55, filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, citing irreconcilable differences. According to court documents, she listed April 26, 2024, as their official date of separation. Keeping things amicable, she filed without a lawyer, requested no spousal support for either party and sought to restore her former name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez.
As for their shared assets, Affleck and Lopez plan to divide the profits from their Beverly Hills mansion once it sells, per documents obtained by People on January 29.
While his personal life shifts, Affleck reportedly remains laser-focused on his career. His upcoming film The Accountant 2 is set to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 8 before hitting theaters on April 25. The highly anticipated sequel sees him reprising his role as Christian Wolff, with Jon Bernthal returning as his on-screen brother, Brax.
Affleck recently gave fans a glimpse of his new action-thriller RIP at Netflix’s 2025 Next on Netflix Special Presentation in L.A. on January 29.
