Two people were taken into custody by Mirchowk police in connection with robbery at Bibi Bazaar X road in Charminar in the early hours of Friday.
The accused, Syed Wajid Ali alias Girgoot Amer alias Vargah, 28, and Shaik Arman Ali, 19, were taken into custody on Saturday, a day after the case was reported by Mohd Abdul Rawoof, working with a ride hailing application.
He was travelling to his grandmother’s house in Shahalibanda with his friend on a two-wheeler and stopped by the roadside to take a call, when the duo confronted them. Wajid Ali, brandishing a knife, threatened the victims and demanded that they hand over their mobile phones, cash, and vehicle. The victims complied, and Wajid Ali sped away on the stolen two-wheeler.
The police seized two vehicles and a knife from the accused.
