Zee TV’s Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile has captivated the audience with its gripping storyline and cast performances. The show recently took a dramatic turn with Reet played by Ayushi Khurana taking a stand against domestic abuse, underlining that staying silent is never the solution.

The emotional scene unfolds with Reet stepping in to support her sister-in-law, Poonam played by Rewati Upadhyay, who has been suffering abuse at the hands of her husband. Reet encourages Poonam not to suffer in silence and to take legal action against her perpetrator. Thus, breaking free from the toxic cycle of domestic abuse.

The powerful sequence not only highlights a harsh reality faced by several women across the globe but also sends a strong message of unity among women and the importance of raising one’s voice against domestic violence.

What made the scene even more impactful is that Ayushi Khurana is a real-life advocate for women’s rights and social justice. Sharing her thoughts on the episode during a media interaction, she said, “Domestic violence is never justified. While portraying Reet in this intense moment, I truly felt the pain and helplessness that so many women experience. Just like Reet, I firmly believe that silence is not an option.”

Known for her efforts in creating awareness of women’s rights, Ayushi seeks to use the platform of entertainment to inspire change. She said, “We need to speak up, spread awareness, and empower women to take a stand. Through this storyline, I hope we can start meaningful conversations and encourage those in need to seek help.”

As Reet takes the lead in Poonam’s fight for justice, the upcoming episodes are expected to feature their journey as they navigate more social complexities.

Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile premiered on Zee TV on November 11 last year. The show is based on the prevalent aata saata marriage custom still known to exist across parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In this arrangement, a daughter from one family marries a son from another, while the groom’s sister weds the bride’s brother, creating a mutual obligation between the two families.

Apart from Ayushi Khurana, Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile features Bharat Ahlawat and Jayati Bhatia in key roles. The show airs every day at 9:30 pm on Zee TV and Zee5.
