Munawar Faruqui has said that the main purpose of any form of entertainment is to keep the negativity away. In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18 Showsha, the stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner, talked about the upcoming season of Entertainers Cricket League when he shared a cryptic response and mentioned how entertainment and negativity must not go hand-in-hand.
“Any sort of entertainment keeps you away from the negativity. But you always sign up when you decide to get entertained. Today, the internet is so accessible that it has become very difficult to monitor what we want to watch. Maybe you find something on your (social media) feed, that you do not even want to watch. But yes, if you do not want to watch it, maybe somebody else is watching,” he said.
“I think any sort of entertainment aims to keep people away from negativity. It is not meant to attract negativity. That’s why we are also playing cricket – come, play, enjoy and support your team. It is not important to abuse the team who is playing against you. Use your energy to support your team. I think, if people start to follow this, it will be good, for all sorts of entertainment,” Faruwui added.

Second season is always a sign that the first one was successful,” he said. However, Munawar also clarified that he isn’t following any particular strategy for the game, “We followed a strategy last year and we don’t think it was wrong. The idea for everyone is to be on the same page.”
