Class 10 Hindi and Science exams cancelled in Jharkhand after paper leak allegations

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Thursday (February 20, 2025) cancelled the Class 10 Board examinations for Science and Hindi, after the question papers of these subjects were allegedly leaked on social media.

The Hindi examination was conducted on February 18 and the Science exam was held on Thursday (February 20, 2025).

JAC Chairman Natwa Hansda said that when the Science question paper was opened at 9.45 a.m., it was found that it matched the one circulating on social media. The students too realised it and demanded cancellation of the exam.

The State government officials, led by Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, held a high-level meeting on the issue. Mr. Hansda ordered the Deputy Commissioners of Koderma and Giridih to investigate the matter as the paper leak had first come to light in these two districts.

Seeks report in 24 hours

The JAC has sought a report from the district administration within 24 hours. The portals where the question papers were available too are under scanner. “Strict action will be taken against whoever is responsible for it,” Mr. Hansda said.

“Information regarding the date of re-examination of both the subjects will be given later,” the JAC notification said.

At some places in Jharkhand, the Science question paper was available through WhatsApp groups for ₹350, sources said.
