
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan met Union Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Patil in New Delhi on Thursday (February 20).
Mr. Naidu stated in a message on X that they requested speedy reimbursement of the expenditure incurred on the construction of Polavaram left and right canals, and sought all support to complete the project on a war footing.
He also requested Mr. Patil to extend support for the Polavaram Banakacherla link project, which is aimed at transferring 200 TMCFT of floodwater from Godavari river at Polavaram to Banakacherla through a link canal.
This project is intended to make Andhra Pradesh drought-proof, supply drinking water to 80 lakh people, irrigate three lakh hectares of new land, supplement 9.14 lakh hectares, and provide 20 TMCFT of water to industries.
