At a time when Samay Raina has been facing backlash for Ranveer Allahbadia’s recent comments on his show India’s Got Latent, an old video of the stand-up comedian has surfaced online, which has left everyone shocked. In this old clip, Samay is seen mocking a two-month-old infant’s ailment.

“A two-month-old baby needs a ₹16 crore injection. If you were the mother and suddenly got ₹16 crore in your bank account, you would at least show your husband and say… inflation is rising,” he said in an old show.

Samay then went on to say that even if they gave the infant the expensive injection, the chances of his survival were not certain. “If the baby doesn’t survive, how much money will be wasted? And if he survives after spending ₹16 crores only to grow up and say he wants to be a poet,” he added.

Samay’s comment has left netizens shocked and disappointed. Several social media users bashed the stand-up comedian. “Karma has no menu, you get served what you deserve. Everything you do comes back to you,” one of the users wrote. “Is this comedy? People who are defending him seriously joking about someone’s serious illness is comedy for you?” added another. “I am more concerned about the people who finds humour in it. I think they all need physiatrist help. Specially the ones laughing in the back,” a third comment read. One of the users also called Samay’s joke “sick” and “shameful”.

Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia have been facing immense backlash over the latter’s recent comments on India’s Got Latent. Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, during a recent episode of the show, allegedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question involving body parts and proposed an indecent act in exchange for Rs 2 crore. The outrage peaked when he posed a controversial question: “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?”

The comment left many shocked and disappointed. In no time, the video went viral on social media with many, including politicians and film personalities, condemning Allahbadia’s comment. The two are also facing multiple FIRs now.

While Samay is currently in US, recently he issued a statement over the controversy and revealed that he has deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube.
