Drake’s ongoing feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar has been in the news for several weeks now, stirring fresh controversy every now and then. This diss-track saga even went on to earn a page in the history of the Super Bowl after Lamar dropped his controversial winning track ‘Not Like Us’ at this year’s halftime show. While the controversy still seems away from being resolved, the Canadian singer-rapper is back in the news once again after a “spying” attempt.
A video going viral on social media shows Drake’s Sydney penthouse where the rapper gets furious on spotting a drone spying on him. The video opens with the drone zooming on Drake’s laptop showing various gambling websites open on the screen. Moments later, the rapper enters the room, only to become shocked and furious upon the unexpected intrusion. Wasting no time, he instantly took off his slipper and threw it in the drone’s direction to knock it down.
The drone not only managed to escape the hit but safely came out of the penthouse overlooking the vast sky. Since the video came out, it has left the internet confused with many even claiming that it was a staged stunt.
Fans reshared the video with diverse reactions. While some pointed out the drone pilot at the corner of the room, others noted that the video was just a staged act. A user wrote, “Staged, drone pilot sitting in the corner,” while another commented, “It’s insane that this is legal. The drone, not the gambling.”
“This is such an invasion of privacy,” another comment read. Someone remarked, “Pretty sure this is an ad in disguise. Congratulations, you’re now part of the marketing team at stake.”
A fan made a random guess, suggesting, “Probably a skit. Y’all know he has a stake deal; why would someone just know the exact penthouse he lives in?” Amid a lot of curiosity, the rapper is yet to make a formal announcement in this regard.
Coming back to Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s highly-publicised feud, the Canadian rapper referred to their years-long rap beef in his latest album’s track, GIMME A HUG. Seemingly addressing his criticism and rivals, he dropped lines like, “They be dropping s*** but we dropping harder s*** / F*** a rap beef, I’m tryna get the party lit / Tryna get the party lit for the b****es.”
The song also marks Drake’s first move after Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show, where he performed the infamous diss track, Not Like Us.
