A ‘cordon and search’ operation conducted by the police across Tirupati district resulted in the seizure of 90 undocumented vehicles till Sunday (February 16).

The initiative, taken up by Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju, was meant to keep a tab on suspected criminals, rowdy sheeters and trouble mongers and counsel them.

The exercise was carried out at Pakala, Yerpedu, Srikalahasti rural, Gudur, Venkatagiri, Kota, Sullurpeta, Nagalapuram, Puttur and Alipiri police limits, where vehicles without valid documents and persons with known criminal track record were identified.

During the operation, the public was also made aware of the importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers and on the need to stay away from suspicious websites and mobile applications to keep cyber criminals at bay.
