Industries Minister P. Rajeeve welcomed the views of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who praised Kerala’s push for industrialisation, the changing investment atmosphere in the State, and the government’s urgency in speeding up clearances and highlighting potential new areas like artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.

“The government of Kerala represents the people of Kerala and not just one party or one group of people. Opposition parties work against the ruling party only in the Assembly House, not when it comes to the development of the State,” Mr. Rajeeve told reporters on Saturday (February 15) at an interactive session ahead of the Invest Kerala Global Summit scheduled for February 21 and 22.

The Minister also reacted positively to Mr. Tharoor’s call for an Investor Protection Act to safeguard investors. He added that the suggestion had been well taken and issues involved, including how such an Act could be enacted, would be studied.

Though Mr. Tharoor’s Congress party colleagues have strongly objected to his views on investment growth in Kerala, Mr. Rajeeve said that all criticisms were welcome. Positive and creative criticism and a positive attitude and suggestions were welcome for the growth of the State, he said.

Mr. Tharoor’s most recent article expressed satisfaction that Kerala’s investment atmosphere was changing.
