Mika Singh criticises authorities for targeting singers like Diljit Dosanjh while ignoring explicit content on shows like India’s Got Latent.

Mika Singh takes a dig at Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia.

Renowned singer Mika Singh has taken a strong stand against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and comedian Samay Raina over the ongoing controversy surrounding the latter’s show India’s Got Latent. The show recently drew backlash for featuring highly inappropriate remarks, including a crude question posed by Ranveer during the latest episode.

Sharing his outrage on Instagram, Mika called the content “wahiyaat” (disgusting) and expressed shock over the profane language used by participants, including Apoorva Mukhija. While acknowledging that some found the episode amusing, Mika condemned the widespread use of expletives.

“The controversy involving Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia—I’ve seen the episode. It’s extremely distasteful, with bizarre abuses being hurled while the audience laughs,” Mika said in his video.

While clarifying that his issue was not with the show’s hosts, Mika directed his criticism at celebrities who appear as judges on such shows. “They pay you so much money, and you just show up and sit there? Singers are doing the same—sitting through shows filled with obscene language. This needs to stop,” he asserted.

Mika also spoke about what he called the hypocrisy of authorities, questioning their swift action against singers like Diljit Dosanjh for innocuous song references while failing to curb explicit content on digital platforms.

“When Diljit or I sing about alcohol, we get slapped with notices immediately. Tum log ko yeh gadhe log nazar nahi aate? Tumhara farz nahi banta? Celebrities aur singers ko fat se notice bhej dete ho toh aap in gadho ko rok nahi sakte? (But these clowns go unnoticed? Isn’t it your duty to stop them?)” Mika ranted.

He called the need for censorship on online platforms and urged young viewers to refrain from using abusive language.

For context, Ranveer Allahbadia faced intense backlash after asking a contestant an offensive hypothetical question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”

Following the public outrage, Ranveer issued an apology, admitting to a “lapse in judgment” and acknowledging that comedy was not his strength.
