The TNCSC disbursed ₹369 crore to Tiruvarur farmers during current samba season

The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation has disbursed ₹369 crore as sales proceeds to 41,349 farmers in Tiruvarur district during the current samba season.

According to official sources, the Corporation opened 536 direct purchase centres in the district and procured 1,34,257 tonnes of fine grade paddy and 53,133 tonnes of coarse grade paddy from farmers. It had disbursed the sale proceeds to farmers through online transfer of funds.

While 59,000 tonnes of paddy was moved to other zones of the TNCSC, 12,000 tonnes was transported to the rice mills and 31,000 tonnes to the godowns.

The Corporation had procured 82,970 tonnes of paddy over and above the quantum procured during the same period last season, sources added.
