A complete report on sexual harassment cases in schools across Tamil Nadu, registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, will be released in March, said Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Sunday.
A detailed status report — including on cases that have resulted in acquittals and those still under trial — is being gathered by the department, he told journalists after attending the 13th State Conference of the Tamil Nadu Government-Aided School Officers’ Association, held at a private school near Tiruchi Central Bus Stand. The event was presided over by State Assembly Speaker M. Appavu.

About AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s stance on the Erode Assembly bypoll results, the Minister criticised him for commenting on the elections despite not contesting.
“One cannot make statements without directly facing the people. Whether we win or lose, the DMK has always met the people. That is why people continue to stand with us, and our electoral victories reflect that,” he said.
