Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Environment, Forests and Science & Technology K. Pawan Kalyan expressed the government’s commitment to combating wildlife and forest crimes through continued vigilance.

Reacting to the recent seizure of 195 red sander logs by the Tirupati-based anti-smuggling task force on February 7, Mr. Kalyan said in a message on ‘X’ that he was congratulating the officers and personnel of the Forest department and the red sanders anti-smuggling task force for their exemplary efforts in detecting and seizing 195 red sanders logs and apprehending eight  offenders.

He stated that this operation was a testament to the unwavering commitment of the enforcement teams in protecting the State’s precious natural heritage.  Red sanders was a rare and invaluable species, and its conservation was of paramount importance and the dedication, vigilance, and swift action in curbing its smuggling were truly commendable.
