Sai Pallavi is all set to delight audiences with her upcoming romantic action thriller, Thandel, alongside Naga Chaitanya. The much-anticipated Telugu film is slated for release on February 7. The recently unveiled action-packed trailer has already flared excitement, showcasing the intense chemistry between the Love Story co-stars.
Producer Allu Aravind recently revealed why Sai Pallavi was the perfect choice for the role of Satya in Thandel. In an interview with Galatta Plus, he explained, “Casting Sai Pallavi was a commercial decision. I couldn’t bring in just any fair-skinned actress from Bombay for this role.”

Elaborating on his decision, Aravind stated that Satya’s character required deep-rooted authenticity, something not just any actress could deliver. “This role demands genuineness, and Sai Pallavi has an extraordinary ability to bring that to life. That’s why we cast her,” he added. The producer further praised her performance, expressing immense satisfaction with her portrayal in the film.
For those unfamiliar, Thandel is inspired by real-life events of fishermen from Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam region. The story follows Raju (played by Naga Chaitanya), a fisherman who mistakenly drifts into Pakistani waters during a fishing expedition. His journey back to his homeland and his beloved Satya (Sai Pallavi) unfolds into a gripping tale of love, struggle, and patriotism. The film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti and promises an emotional yet action-packed cinematic experience.
Sai Pallavi’s Upcoming Projects
Apart from Thandel, Sai Pallavi is also making waves with her upcoming role as Mata Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The actress will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Ram, while Yash plays Raavan and Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman. The epic film is set to release in November 2026.
