Assam’s Elina Rabha Honoured In Boko After Winning Bronze In Wushu At National Games

Guwahati, Feb 5: Elina Rabha, an accomplished wushu athlete from Assam, was celebrated in her hometown of Boko, Kamrup district, after securing a bronze medal in the 56 kg category at the 38th National Games in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Elina triumphed over a competitor from Himachal Pradesh to clinch her spot on the podium, making her community proud.

In recognition of her achievement, Elina was felicitated by a number of local organizations, including the Kamrup (Rural) District Wushu Association, Boko Sports Association, Boko Press Club, and several student unions. These groups came together to honor her hard work and success.

Elina’s parents, Supon and Sabita Rabha, were also widely acknowledged for their steadfast support despite financial difficulties. Their commitment to their daughter’s athletic journey earned praise from various community members.

Elina’s coach, Subhash Goyari, expressed his pride in her success, offering his heartfelt congratulations. During the felicitation event, Sumit Rabha, Executive Member of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council and Secretary of Boko Sports Association, presented a ₹10,000 financial contribution to support Elina’s future sporting endeavors. In addition, Arjun Chetry, President of the Boko Sports Association, announced another ₹10,000 grant to aid her career in wushu.
