Pathsala, Feb 6: A research scholar from the Assamese Department of Bhattadev University, Bajali, was arrested by the police after a female student accused him of sexual harassment.
The accused, Lakhyajyoti Das, has reportedly faced multiple allegations of misconduct in the past, with complaints filed against him for inappropriate behavior towards female students.
According to sources, when the victim confronted Das about the harassment, along with other students, he allegedly admitted to the incidents. Following the complaint, Bajali Police arrested the scholar, and the victim has formally filed an FIR, setting the legal process in motion.
