Law Minister S. Regupathy on Wednesday asked whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who talks about Parliamentary conventions, was aware of how Governors of non-BJP-ruled States destroyed conventions of Legislative Assemblies. Mr. Regupathy pointed out on social media that Governor R.N. Ravi was not even reading out his customary address in the Assembly.
Despite having a difference of opinion, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, through the Speaker, invited Mr. Ravi to address the Assembly on the first session of the year. However, the Governor disregarded the Assembly’s dignity.
