It is a festive time for Priyanka Chopra as her younger brother Siddharth Chopra is set to tie the knot with Neelam Upadhyaya. The actress has been sharing glimpses from the pre-wedding ceremonies. Here’s all you need to know about Siddharth ahead of his big day. Born on July 12, 1989, Siddharth is seven years younger than Priyanka. He pursued his education at Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Switzerland from 2009 to 2012 and then, became a chef. After his training, Siddharth opened his restaurant The Mugshot Lounge in Pune in 2014.
Siddharth also plays an important role in Priyanka Chopra’s production company Purple Pebble Pictures known for projects such as Ventilator, The Sky Is Pink and Anuja, which recently earned an Oscar nomination under Best Live Action Short Film. An advocate of a sustainable lifestyle, he launched Chopra Farms in June 2023, an initiative aimed at delivering fresh, organic, and seasonal produce.
The 36-year-old has also been in the headlines for his personal life. He had a roka ceremony with Kanika Mathur in 2014 with a wedding initially planned for February 2015 in Goa. However, the wedding was postponed, reportedly due to Siddharth’s focus on his career and Pune venture at the time.
Five years later, he got engaged to Ishita Kumar in New Delhi in 2019. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas travelled from the US to attend the celebration. However, the wedding, scheduled for April 30 that year, was called off. His mother, Dr Madhu Chopra revealed that Siddharth felt he wasn’t ready for marriage.
Siddharth found love again in actress Neelam Upadhyaya. During a conversation with Harpers Bazaar India, Priyanka mentioned that Siddharth met Neelam on an online dating app she had invested in. The couple celebrated their roka ceremony in April 2024, followed by an engagement and hastakshar ceremony in August 2024.
