At a star-studded event in Mumbai on Monday, Netflix unveiled its upcoming slate of web series and films for the year ahead. The event saw the who’s who of the film industry grace the occasion in stylish outfits, but it was actress Sakshi Tanwar who stole the spotlight. Sakshi attended to unveil the teaser of her new show, The Royals. In a viral video from the event, Sakshi confidently posed on the red carpet in front of the paparazzi, looking stunning in a lavender saree paired with a matching high-neck blouse. She exuded vintage charm, accessorizing with a heavy diamond necklace, matching bangles, and traditional jhumka earrings.
Fans quickly flooded social media with compliments. One Instagram user commented, “Elegant, graceful, and beautiful,” while another added, “I love her simplicity.”
Meanwhile, talking about The Royals, it also features celebs like Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Nora Fatehi, Zeenat Aman, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Milind Soman and others.
Set in Rajasthan, the romantic comedy follows a polo-playing prince (Ishaan) and a CEO (Bhumi) as their worlds clash, merging royalty and capitalism. Reportedly, in the show, Sakshi will be seen playing Ishaan’s mother.
Earlier, it was reported that Mallika Sherawat was supposed to play the role in The Royals but she decided to exit due to creative differences. Therefore, Sakshi was roped in for the role.
Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, the series aims to bring forth the new-age romance. It will be streaming on Netflix. However, an official streaming date is yet to be announced.
Sharing the teaser of The Royals, the makers wrote, “Cue the trumpets because, Maharajas, couture dresses and a rom-com with @ishaankhatter and @bhumipednekar is on its way. The Royals is coming soon, only on Netflix.”
