The highly anticipated revenge thriller series Akka, starring powerhouse performers Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte, unveiled its teaser at Netflix’s grand Next on Netflix event on Monday. The show, set to stream in 2025, promises a gripping saga of power, betrayal, and vengeance.
The story is set in the fictional city of Pernuru, South India, during the 1980s. It revolves around formidable gangster queens whose matriarchal rule is challenged by an outsider, portrayed by Radhika Apte. The teaser opens with commanding visuals of Keerthy leading her all-female gang, hinting at the intense turf war to follow. Apte’s character is shown devising cunning strategies to dismantle the reign of Akka and its gold-smuggling operations.
The dramatic teaser offers glimpses of fierce battles where gang members, dressed in traditional attire, pick up arms to defend their territory. Explosive action sequences and tense confrontations build the anticipation for this gritty tale.

Keerthy Suresh, who made waves in Bollywood with her debut Baby John alongside Varun Dhawan, spoke passionately about the show during the event in Mumbai.
“Akka is an entirely different world that you wouldn’t have seen before. It’s a story of fierce, powerful women coming together. This is a show about strength and resilience,” Keerthy shared.
