Krantiveera Brigade inauguration in Basavana Bagewadi tomorrow

The Krantiveera Brigade will be inaugurated in Basavana Bagewadi of Vijayapura district on Tuesday. This is aimed at the protection of all Hindus, the former Deputy Chief Minister K.S. Eshwarappa has said.

He told reporters in Vijayapura on Sunday that over one lakh people are expected to attend the launch of the brigade. Moreover, 1,008 heads of religious maths and institutions will participate in the launch programme.

He said that he has received support from across North Karnataka for the launch of the brigade and it is beyond his expectations.

Sri Adrushya Kadasiddeshwara Swamiji of Kanheri Math and Sri Siddharamananda Swamiji of Kanakaguru Peetha are prominent among the seers who are attending the event.

A procession of folkart forms, including Kumbh and Dollu Kunita by 1008 women, will also be organised.

Over one lakh people, including those from Dalit communities and backward communities, will participate, he said.

He said that several maths are in a difficult financial condition and there is a need to support them. Among other things, the brigade will train seers in rituals and temple management, he said.

He said that he supported the idea of elections to choose party presidents in the BJP or other parties. “We are a democracy and it is natural to have elections for the post of party State presidents. There is noting wrong if ordinary workers contest for such posts,” he said in response to a query.

He said that politics in Karnataka has become chaotic. “No party is functioning properly. The condition of all the parties, the Congress, the BJP and the Janata Dal(S) is the same. The situation has become embarrassing for workers of all parties. We do not know if any party senior leadership has any influence on the party units or not,” he said.

“There is an open race for the Chief Minister’s post in the Congress,” Mr. Eshwarappa said. “Even the warning by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge to party leaders to keep quiet, is not being followed,” he said.

He said that it is very sad to see the State BJP unit in such a situation as it is in currently. “The party seems to have no ideology. There is no collective leadership. The party is in the hands of a family. Senior party workers are hurt. There is a lot of confusion in the party,” he said.
