
Agartala, February 01, 2025: The grand Samutkarsh Mahashivir organized by Vidya Bharati’s North Eastern Region concluded successfully at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati on January 31. The three-day mega event held from January 29 to January 31, witnessed the participation of over 8,000 students from more than 700 schools across the Northeast, including a strong contingent from Tripura.
The event was a spectacular display of discipline, culture, and knowledge, where students showcased their skills in musical instruments, yoga, asanas, and exercises. A significant moment of the final day was the address to 5,000 mothers by RSS Assamese field pracharak Vasishtha Bhujrabarua, who emphasized the crucial role of mothers in shaping their children’s future. “A child learns from his mother to become Narayana from Nara,” he said, highlighting the scientific basis of the 16 samskaras in Indian tradition and urging mothers to actively contribute to nation-building.
Vidya Bharati’s Akhil Bharatiya Co-organizing Minister Jatindra Sharma called upon mothers to adopt the ideals of Lokmata Ahilya Bai and dedicate themselves to empowering women through education. The event was graced by Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Women and Child Development Dachanglu Phul, Assam Minister Nandita Garlosa, and several dignitaries.
The closing ceremony witnessed an electrifying atmosphere as 8000 students welcomed Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma by playing five different Ghosh compositions. The rhythmic synchronization, accompanied by a mesmerizing Bihu dance performance by 1,000 students, left the audience spellbound.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Krishna Gopal Sharma, Co-Chairman of RSS, urged students to restore India’s lost educational glory and establish the country as a world leader.
A strong delegation of students from Tripura hailing from Agartala, Teliamura, Dharmanagar, Ramnagar, Gandhigram, Padmapur, and Ichai Lal Chha, participated in the grand event. Their enthusiastic involvement in various cultural and educational activities was widely appreciated, reinforcing Tripura’s commitment to holistic education and traditional values.
In his keynote speech, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the significance of combining the knowledge of the past with the technology of the future to create a developed India by 2047.
“There is nothing more sacred than knowledge. In the past, India was the heart of spirituality, science, and astrology. We must extract the nectar of knowledge from history and merge it with futuristic technology to shape a prosperous India,” he said.
He further highlighted the role of education in nation-building, stating that service is an integral part of learning and that student inquisitiveness fuels academic growth.
The Chief Minister congratulated every student, teacher, and organizer of Vidya Bharati, acknowledging their contribution to the golden journey of education. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jagadindra Roychowdhury, General Secretary of Vidya Bharati, North Eastern Region.
As the Tripura students return home, their participation in Samutkarsh Mahashivir stands as a testament to the state’s growing educational excellence and deep-rooted cultural heritage.
