Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has introduced a new system of weekday-tagged bedsheets to improve hygiene and ensure better linen management. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the initiative on January 29, emphasizing its role in reducing infection risks and improving patient care.
The bedsheets, each marked with the name of a specific weekday, will be rotated systematically to prevent the reuse of the same sheet on consecutive days, ensuring improved cleanliness. This initiative aims to address hygiene concerns and promote better hospital practices.
The new system has also been implemented at Nalbari Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) as part of a broader effort to improve hospital hygiene standards across the state.
